for green hydrogen
a monumental challenge
dance with Helios

Tadashi Ogitsu from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory traveled on just one tank of hydrogen roundtrip to El Capitan, symbolic of the greatness of challenges that we will overcome, even on cloudy days. Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles offer long driving ranges and fast refueling times, while emitting only water vapor. When hydrogen is generated from water splitting and powered by renewables, such as solar or wind, the roundtrip process is green – and AWeSoMe! – but cost-effective solutions require innovative approaches beyond traditional solar cells and electrolyzers.
